Ocular aberrometry: clinical applications and limitations of wavefront sensors
Ciencia y Tecnología para la Salud Visual y Ocular

Abstract

It is possible to decompose the wavefront aberration by the Zernike polynomials. Through adaptive optics systems, using such mathematical functions, ocular aberrations can be determined from the clinical and physical points of view. In this paper the components of wavefront aberration are analysed, and the main clinical applications of ocular aberrometry and its major limitations are described.
