Stereopsis and contrast-sensitivity function (CSF) in children with refractive amblyopia
Ciencia y Tecnología para la Salud Visual y Ocular

Abstract

Eye development is a process that demands proper eye stimulation in the first years of age. The presence of non-physiological refractive errors produces a blurring image that may alter the evolution of this process, causing amblyopia. Therefore it is useful to implement programs to prevent amblyopia which include diverse tests to completely evaluate visual function. Contrast sensitivity, stereopsis and visual sharpness are aspects of said function, and to apply them helps to increase diagnostic precision in children screen test and assessment and follow-up in the amblyopia patients’ treatment.
