Abstract
Keratoconus is included among the degenerative corneal changes that occur in a progressive thinning and distortion. It has been known for a long time, but in recent years, novel corneal diagnostic techniques and treatments have been proposed that have led to further studies on this condition. About keratoconus we know what alterations occur, its evolution, and some treatments. Although the cause and the exact mechanisms, how to prevent and cure it, are unknown, so we must continue research to improve quality of life of people affected by this anomaly.
