The analytic exam and its clinical importance. Graphic analysis method

Abstract

The analytical methods determine the accuracy of refraction, relation accommodation-convergence and establish the limits of the clear, simple and binocular vision zone. The comfort zone or working zone is affected by the following categories: vision decrease is caused by refractive and functional defects (hypermetropia, myopia, astigmatism, amblyopia, and strabismus). Visual fatigue is caused by alterations in the relation accommodation-convergence and decrease in the amplitude of accommodation fusion causing difficulty in attention and concentration in work. Children with learning problems and reading and writing mistakes: Parents and teachers send school age children to psychological treatments without thinking that the academic performance is not associated to personality aspects and environmental relations, but, on the contrary, their learning low level is a consequence of their visual discomfort. Pre and post surgical processes of refractive surgery: in patients consultation is normal to find visual discomfort for far and near vision, blurred vision, double vision, exaggerated discomfort to light, ardor, which affect their working clear, simple and binocular vision zone. The analytical exam includes three essential points: refractive examination, graphic examination and disposition. The graphic analysis clinically shows the state of binocular vision, where the working zone is studied, and identifies the existence of clear, simple and comfortable vision.
