Effect of lenses with gray filtre 2, yellow 2 and amber in the attention of children of fifth grade

Abstract

<em><strong>Objective:</strong></em> to determine if a change in the attention exists with the use of lenses with gray filtre 2, yellow 2, and amber. <em><strong>Methods:</strong></em> a observational, comparative, cross-sectional study was realized in Aguascalientes, Mexico to 120 students (60 boys and 60 girls) of fifth basic degree of education, the nonprobabilistic sample by convenience was subdivided in children with and without signs of problems of attention to criterion of the professors. The tests without lenses and later with the use of lenses with each type of filtre were realized to determine the speed and type of processing, the test realized were: Development of the ocular movement Development eye Movement (DEM), copied Test of, Word Copy Sentence (WCS), Tachitoscope and line of vision span. <em><strong>Results:</strong></em> the average analysis, show that the gray filtre 2 improved the simultaneous processing and yellow filtre 2 improved the sequential processing in the group of children with attention problems. In the group of children without attention problems the amber filtre improved both types of processing. <em><strong>Conclusion:</strong></em> the use of lenses with gray and yellow filtres has effect in the performance of the children with attention problems.
