Abstract
Accommodative spasm is a multifactorial entity in which there is a hyperfunction of the ciliary muscle that induces myopia. It can develop after refractive surgery, generating reduced expectations and bothersome visual symptoms for the patient. In this article we report a case of accommodation spasm in the non-operated eye following Lasik, with refraction without cycloplegia OD + 0.25 OI -3.00 Sph and with cycloplegia OD -0.25 OI +0.25 Sph. The visual and refractive response was adequate to the treatment of relaxation and accommodation flexibility with positive lens and flippers. Therefore, the aim of this paper was to review postsurgical vision therapy and the etiology underlying this unusual condition.References
